2019-6-20 CEMA’s Screw Conveyor for Bulk Materials was first published in 1971 and currently the 5th edition, 2nd Printing with cosmetics changes only in 2019. Following are the summary of changes that have occurred in the 5th edition 1st and 2nd Printing: 1. Dimensions for 30” and 36” Screws were added in the following Tables:
Screw Conveyors for Bulk Materials CEMA Standard No. 350-2019. Accepted engineering and application practice as compiled by engineers of leading screw conveyor manufacturing companies. Illustrated and contains many tabular data on conveyor selection/handling characteristics of materials ordinarily handled in screw conveyors.
HISTORY: The first conveyor as such as designed by ARCHIMEDES (287 -212 BC) for removing water from the ship and to raise water from river to farm land The next technological advancement of importance in screw conveyor design was patented on march 29, 1898 by Frank C. Caldwell. This construction is now known as the helicoid flight. APPLICATION: Screw conveyor s are bulk material
